The Meaning Of Dewata

"Dewa" is a term in Hinduism and Buddhism for spiritual existence which has supernatural powers, while the Dewata (in Sanskrit language called Dewanagari: देवता), or called tevoda (ទេវតា) in Khmer), is a god with a lower position than the main gods. The term also means the Gods "the Gods" or gods in the plural. Gods can sex male or female. There are many kinds of gods crate: wanadewata (guardian spirits of the forest, perhaps originally a worship of spirits, which symbolizes the forces of nature), grama dewata (village god), guardian deity crossing rivers, caves, mountains and other sacred places. Guardian deities of the wind directions are called Gods or Deities Lokapala Nawa Sanga. Each caste Hindus have a patron deity, and every human activity has a divine manifestations in the spiritual realm or the spiritual aspect.

Some well-known celestial beings included in the gods, among other apsaras or goddess; her heavenly duty to test the hermit's faith, and gandarwa; man heavenly musicians. Gods often appeared in the Hindu epic stories and the story of Buddhist scripture. Bali island famous for its nickname as the "Pulau Dewata" or "Island of the Gods" due to the strong Hindu culture, such as the number of offerings dedicated to the gods guard at various places in Bali.

Deities tend to be equated with the guardian spirits of certain places, is very similar to the concept of guardian angels or jinn even gatekeepers in the Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, and Judaism).
